vcsmm.conf should be backed up before applying VCSMM patches (Solaris)

Solution

Some point patches have been released to fix VCSMM problems on the Solaris platform. Please be aware that all of these patches overwrite the existing vcsmm driver configuration file vcsmm.conf in the /kernel/drv/ directory, and these patches can also change the VCSMM configuration back to the default.

Recommended Course of Action:

1. Before applying these patches, vcsmm.conf should be backed up:

# cd /kernel/drv
# cp vcsmm.conf vcsmm.conf.org

2. Apply point patches at the direction of the individual README file or instructions from Technical Support

3. Restore previous settings:

# cd /kernel/drv
# cp vcsmm.conf vcsmm.conf.new
# cp vcsmm.conf.org vcsmm.conf

or edit vcsmm.conf by hand
