Solution

This TechFile provides information about the Array Support Library (ASL) for FUJITSU ETERNUS3000 Series and ETERNUS4000 Model 80/100 arrays on Veritas Volume Manager 4.0 MP1 and later for AIX.

For general information about ASLs, see TechNote 249446 (link in the Related Documents section of this TechFile)

Package Name: Array Support Library for FUJITSU ETERNUS3000/4000A (1.1)
Package Version: 1.1.0.0
Supported versions of Veritas Volume Manager: 4.0 MP1 and later
Supported Arrays:  FUJITSU ETERNUS3000 (A/P-G)
                             FUJITSU ETERNUS4000 Model 80/100 (A/P-G)
Changes Log: As compared to version 1.0.0.0 of the ASL, released through TechFile 280274, this TechFile has additional support for the ETERNUS4000 Model 80/100.

At the bottom of this TechFile, click on Download Now to download the ASL package VRTSFJTSYe3k4ka_v1.1_aix_4.0mp1_283672.tar.Z into the /tmp directory

Note: If you are downloading this file on a Windows based system, an automatic file extension name change occurs for the ASL package. Therefore, you must execute the download as follows:

1. When presented with the option to save the file, save it as file type "All files."

2. In the file naming box, ensure that the file name exactly matches the file name as shown in this TechFile

3. Select OK

Before adding any ASL package, ensure Veritas Volume Manager  is installed and enabled:

# vxdctl mode

mode: enabled

Note: If you have installed the previous version of the ASL for the ETERNUS3000 (for example, FJTSYe3k), you should uninstall the package before installing the current version.

To install the package:

# cd /tmp
# zcat VRTSFJTSYe3k4ka_v1.1_aix_4.0mp1_283672.tar.Z | tar xvf -
# installp -acX -d ./VRTSFJTSYe3k4ka.bff VRTSFJTSYe3k4ka

After the package is installed, you must run the vxdctl enable command to claim the disk array as a FUJITSU array:

# vxdctl enable

After running vxdctl enable, you should see libFJTSYe3k4ka.so in the output of the vxddladm listsupport command:

# vxddladm listsupport libname=libFJTSYe3k4ka.so
