This patch provides fixes for the Symantec Veritas NetBackup (tm) PureDisk Remote Office
Edition software.

Please read this entire document before installing.

Pack Dependencies
===================

-- Install NB_PDE_60_MP1_283808 before you install this patch, found below in the Related Documents section.

-- If you also plan to install NB_PDO_60_MP1_S01, be aware that the order in
  which you install the NB_PDO patch and this NB_PDE patch does not matter.
  You can install the NB_PDE patch first, or you can install the NB_PDO
  patch first.  However, install these two patches in sequence.  The
  installation instructions for each patch require you to perform a disaster
  recovery backup.  You do not need to perform a disaster recovery backup for
  each patch if you install the second patch shortly after you install the
  first patch.

I.  PRIMARY MAINTENANCE/UPDATE LIST

II.  PRODUCT CHANGES
====================

If you defined multiple disaster recovery backup policies, be aware that
this patch removes those policies.  As of NB_PDE_60_MP1_P01, PureDisk supports
only one disaster recovery backup system policy.

IV. DOWNLOAD INSTRUCTIONS
==========================

1. Download the patch by clicking below on the "Download Now" link.

2. Use rcp or scp to copy the downloaded file, NB_PDE_60_MP1_P01_284636.tar,
to the /root directory of the PureDisk node that is hosting the SPA.

3. Log on to the node that hosts the SPA as user root.

4. Type cd /root to go to the /root directory.

5. Type the following command to verify the integrity of the patch:

md5sum /root/NB_PDE_60_MP1_P01_284636.tar

This command computes the md5 checksum of the patch file.  The md5
checksum of the patch file must match 04e0c29e23b135773e179b76caed6504
 If you obtain a different checksum, the patch was corrupted during download. Try to download the
patch again.

6. Type the following command to extract the README file:

tar -C / -xf /root/NB_PDE_60_MP1_P01_284636.tar ./README.txt

V. INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS
=============================

1. Log out from the Web UI

2. Type the following command to unpack the patch software:

tar -C / -xf /root/NB_PDE_60_MP1_P01_284636.tar ./opt

3. Type the following command to run and install the patch:

/opt/pdinstall/apply-NB_PDE_60_MP1_P01.sh

If the topology.ini file is encrypted, the software prompts you for the
password to decrypt this file.

The patch automatically pushes the software to all nodes in the
storage pool and all clients.

At the end of a successful installation, the software prompts you to encrypt
the topology.ini file.

4. (Conditional)   Monitor the client agent upgrade jobs.

Perform this step if you have agent software installed on clients.

Take the following actions to monitor the client agent upgrade jobs:

A. Invoke the Web UI.
B. Click the Workflows tab.
C. Select the Agent update workflow.

If it occurs that one of the upgrade jobs fail, that agent becomes
       deactivated.  When you activate these agents again, PureDisk schedules a
       new upgrade job.  If the client is connected to the network, PureDisk
       schedules the job within 15 minutes.  To determine which agents are
       deactivated, take the following actions:

A. Invoke the Web UI.
B. Click the Data management tab.
C. Select the Deactivated client agents by storage pool view, which is the third view from the left.

5. Perform a disaster recovery backup.

Use the instructions in the Veritas NetBackup PureDisk Remote Office
       Edition Administrator's Guide that is posted to the following Web site:

This backup preserves both the databases and the content router data.

NOTE1: As of the MP1 release, the disaster recovery backup procedure differs
from the procedure that existed in previous releases.  If you are not
familiar with the MP1 disaster recovery backup procedure, see the Veritas
NetBackup PureDisk Remote Office Edition Adminstrator's Guide posted to the
Web site noted previously in this step.

NOTE2: If you had defined multiple disaster recovery backup policies before
you applied this patch, be aware that this patch removes those policies.
As of NB_PDE_60_MP1_P01, PureDisk supports only one disaster recovery backup
system policy.

6. (Conditional)  Verify that all the agent upgrade jobs completed.

Perform this step if you have agent software installed on clients.

The upgrade jobs time out after 14 days.  If a client does not connect to
the storage pool within that 14 day period, start another upgrade job for
that client.  For information about how to upgrade an agent manually, see
the Veritas NetBackup PureDisk Remote Office Edition Getting Started Guide.
