This TechFile provides information about the Array Support Library (ASL) for Fujitsu ETERNUS3000 and ETERNUS4000 Model 80/100 arrays on Solaris.

This package supersedes package version 1.0 and 1.0.1. Support for Veritas Database Edition/Advanced Cluster (tm) 3.5 Maintenance Pack 2 (MP2)  9i RAC was added with package 1.0.2.

Note: The ETERNUS3000 and ETERNUS4000 Model 80/100 array must be configured to exhibit A/P-G characteristics and must support SCSI-III PGR. A firmware upgrade may be required for SCSI-III PGR support. For additional details on array configuration, contact Fujitsu Technical Support.


At the bottom of this TechFile, click on Download Now to download the ASL package VRTSFJTSYe3k4ka_v1.0.2_SunOSSparc_3.2_284717.tar.Z. Before adding any ASL package, ensure Veritas Volume Manager is installed and enabled:

# vxdctl mode
mode: enabled

Note: If installing on Solaris 9, then set LD_LIBRARY_PATH to /usr/lib. See TechNote 251706 for complete information (link in the Related Documents section of this TechFile)

After downloading VRTSFJTSYe3k4ka_v1.0.2_SunOSSparc_3.2_284717.tar.Z, uncompress and extract the package:

# zcat VRTSFJTSYe3k4ka_v1.0.2_SunOSSparc_3.2_284717.tar.Z | tar xvf -

Note: If you have installed the previous version of the ASL for the ETERNUS3000 (for example, FJSVasl), you must stop all I/O to volumes or file systems and uninstall the package before installing the current version ASL.

To install the package:

# pkgadd -d . VRTSFJTSYe3k4ka

After the package is installed, you must run the vxdctl enable command to claim the disk array as a FUJITSU array:

# vxdctl enable

After running vxdctl enable, you should see libvxFJTSYe3k4ka.so in the output of vxddladm listsupport:

# vxddladm listsupport | grep libvxFJTSYe3k4ka.so
libvxFJTSYe3k4ka.so              A/PG         FUJITSU      E3000
libvxFJTSYe3k4ka.so              A/PG         FUJITSU      E400A
