E000FE3C - Access to the device is not authorized with this edition of Backup Exec.

Solution

1. Confirm that the Backup Exec Remote Agent for Windows Servers is installed on the remote system and backup exec remote agent for windows service  is running.

2. Confirm that the version of Remote Agent on the remote server is the same as that of the Backup Exec server.

3. Confirm that there is a Remote Agent license installed on the Backup Exec server for each remote server being backed up.

4. Remove any selections from the backup selection list of any remote servers which are not licensed.

5. Remove any resource from the backup selection list (like SQL data,  EXCHANGE data etc.) that is being backed up without it's license installed as the trial version of the required agent might have expired.

6. Restart the Backup Exec Remote Agent for Windows service on the remote server.

7.Open the windows device manager and check if the devices are listed properly.
