Symantec Enterprise Vault 7.0 - Installing an SMTP Archiving license

Solution

Overview:

Symantec Enterprise Vault 7.0 uses a new type of licensing called the Enterprise Licensing System (ELS), which replaces the previous text file based licensing technology. The Installing and Configuring Enterprise Vault manual provides extensive information on this new licensing technology.

Enterprise Vault licenses are automatically installed by the Enterprise Vault Administration service. However, if you install the SMTP archiving components on a Microsoft SMTP Server computer that does not have the Enterprise Vault Administration service, you must follow the instructions below to install a license for SMTP archiving.
