This TechFile provides information about the Array Support Library (ASL) for FUJITSU ETERNUS4000 and ETERNUS8000 Series arrays on Veritas Volume Manager (tm) 5.0 for Solaris.

Installation Instructions:

1. Create a directory to store the ASL package:
# mkdir /tmp/asl
# cd /tmp/asl

2. At the bottom of this TechFile, click on Download Now to download the ASL package

3. After downloading VRTSFJTSYe8k_v1_SunOS_50_286532.tar.Z, verify checksum of the file as follows:
# cksum VRTSFJTSYe8k_v1_SunOS_50_286532.tar.Z
928542150       9009    VRTSFJTSYe8k_v1_SunOS_50_286532.tar.Z

4. Uncompress the file and extract the package:
# uncompress VRTSFJTSYe8k_v1_SunOS_50_286532.tar.Z
# tar xvf VRTSFJTSYe8k_v1_SunOS_50_286532.tar

5. Before adding any ASL package, ensure Veritas Volume Manager is installed and enabled:
# vxdctl mode
mode: enabled

6. ASL Installation:
# pkgadd -d . VRTSFJTSYe8k

7. After the package is installed, run the vxdctl enable command to claim the disk array as a Fujitsu array:
# vxdctl enable

8. After running vxdctl enable, run the vxddladm listsupport and vxddladm listversion command and verify the output:
# vxddladm listsupport libname=libvxFJTSYe8k.so
