To which versions of VERITAS Backup Exec (tm) can this hotfix be applied?
This update is designed for the Remote Agent for Linux/UNIX Systems that is used by:
Backup Exec 11.0 (11d) for Windows Server revision 6235
 
What issue does this hotfix resolve?
A memory existed when using 256-bit encryption during encrypted backups.
 
Which files are in this update?
After installing the update, the following files should be updated on the Linux/UNIX system:
beremote
libbetools.so
 
How to install this update:
Note:  Some Linux/UNIX systems may be case sensitive.  Please type the commands below as you see them.
This update must be applied to all Remote Agent for Linux/UNIX Systems that are being backed up by a Backup Exec 11.0 (11d) for Windows Servers (revision 6235).
1. Download and save the hotfix tar file.
2. Copy over the tar file to the Linux/UNIX system.
3. Logged into the console as root or using su, stop the RALUS agent with the following command:
/etc/init.d/VRTSralus.init stop
4. Extract the file:
tar -xvf ralus6235HF5-SunOS_287020.tar
5. Run
./installraluspatch.sh
Note: After the installation of this update, it is important to run a full backup of each Linux/UNIX system for recovery purposes.
 
How to verify this hotfix has been installed:
Open the ralus.ver file. It can be found in /var/VRTS/.
 
Uninstalling this hotfix
Note:  Once installed, this hotfix cannot be uninstalled.
