Problem
GENERAL ERROR: Event ID 2263 - Error processing archiving request in Enterprise Vault (EV) for Microsoft Exchange archiving.
Error
Error processing archiving request for system /O=EXCHANGE/OU=
Solution
This error in
processing could be due to the fact that the mailboxes that need to be enabled
for archiving MUST include at least one message, new users for example should be
sent a standard message before trying to locate their mailboxes.
To resolve the
issue follow the steps below:
1.
Check if synchronization has completed successfully by opening the Vault
Admin Console (VAC).
2.
Click on the EV server under "computers".
3.
Right click the archiving task in the right pane
4.
Choose the tab "synchronization" and then Sync all mailboxes.
The problem
could also be due to a logon failure in the environment, if the Exchange servers
all have similar names, for example LondonTownExchange1, LondonTownExchange2,
etc. The entry in the SQL table only reflects the first 13 characters of this
name.
To resolve the
issue perform the following:
1.
Stop all EV services.
2.
Open SQL Manager.
3.
Open the EnterpriseVaultDirectory Directory Database.
4.
Open the Archiving Service Entry (for Version 5) or Archiving Retrieval Task
(For Version 6 or Higher) table / Return all Rows
5.
In the column SystemMailbox, change the value to the follow example:
smtp:emailaddress@yourname.com
The
SMTP address will be for the default E-mail address for the Mailbox that is
already listed.
6.
Repeat this step for each Archiving Service.
Note:
Ensure that the System Mailbox is not hidden from the Global Address
List.
