Final error: 0xe000fe29 - Authentication failed on connection to the server. Make sure that the user account has the appropriate permissions and that the password was typed correctly.

This error occurs when restoring data backed up from a Windows server to a NetWare server .
 

The job will fail with the following alert message (Figure 1):
 

Authentication failed on connection to the server.
 
Make sure that the user account has the appropriate permissions and that the password was typed correctly.
 
Access is denied to Remote Agent.
 
Check the login account for the specified device.
 
Error: Access is denied to Remote Agent.

Solution



 
This issue has been fixed in Backup Exec 11d v 7170 for Windows Servers.
 
Workaround:
 
Restore the data to a Windows server and then copy it across to a NetWare server.
