Problem
VERITAS Enabled Arrays - Array Support Library for Fujitsu ETERNUS6000 (Active/Active) Arrays on Veritas Volume Manager (tm) 5.0 and later for Solaris
Solution
Veritas Enabled Arrays - Array Support Library for Fujitsu ETERNUS6000 (Active/Active) Arrays on Veritas Volume Manager (tm) 5.0 and later for Solaris
This Solution provides information about the Array Support Library (ASL) for Fujitsu ETERNUS6000 arrays. For general information about ASLs, refer to Solution a249446 ( link in the Related Kb section below)
Package Name: Array Support Library for FUJITSU ETERNUS6000
Package Version: 5.0, REV=1.0_2007.03.13.21.11
Supported versions of Veritas Volume Manager (tm): 5.0 and later
Supported arrays: Fujitsu ETERNUS6000 (Active/Active)
Note: The ETERNUS6000 array must be configured to exhibit active/active (A/A) characteristics and support SCSI III Persistent Group Standards (PGR). A firmware upgrade may be required for SCSI III PGR support. For additional details on array configuration, contact Fujitsu Technical Services.
At the bottom of this Solution, click Download Now to download the ASL package VRTSFJTSYe6k_v1_SunOS_50_287699.tar.Z
Before adding any ASL package, make sure Veritas Volume Manager (tm) is installed and enabled (vxdctl mode command should return "enabled"):
# vxdctl enable
mode: enabled
WARNING: If installing on Solaris 9, then set LD_LIBRARY_PATH to /usr/lib. Refer to Solution a251706 for complete information (See the Related Kb section below).
After downloading VRTSFJTSYe6k_v1_SunOS_50_287699.tar.Z, uncompress and extract the package:
# cd /tmp
# zcat VRTSFJTSYe6k_v1_SunOS_50_287699.tar.Z | tar xvf -
Note: If you have installed the previous version of the ASL for the ETERNUS6000 (for example, FJSVasle6), you must stop all I/O to volumes or file systems and uninstall the package before installing the current version ASL.
To install the package, type:
# pkgadd -d ./
After the package is installed, you must run the vxdctl enable command to claim the disk array as a FUJITSU array:
# vxdctl enable
After running vxdctl enable, you should see libvxFJTSYe6k.so in the output of vxddladm listsupport:
# vxddladm listsupport libname=libvxFJTSYe6k.so
