Problem
Use the installation scripts to perform a minimal installation of Veritas Storage Foundation 5.0 Products
Solution
When installing, change to the individual product directory, then add the command line parameter "-nooptionalpkgs".
The following example installs only the required packages for Storage Foundation to operate correctly from a cdrom mounted on "/mnt":
# cd /mnt/cdrom/storage_foundation
#./installsf -nooptionalpkgs
The following example installs only the required packages for Volume Manager:
# cd /mnt/cdrom/volume_manager
# ./installvm -nooptionalpkgs
The following example installs only the required packages for File System:
# cd /mnt/cdrom/file_system
# ./installfs -nooptionalpkgs
The following example installs only the required packages for Storage Foundation to operate correctly from a cdrom mounted on "/mnt":
# cd /mnt/cdrom/storage_foundation
#./installsf -nooptionalpkgs
The following example installs only the required packages for Volume Manager:
# cd /mnt/cdrom/volume_manager
# ./installvm -nooptionalpkgs
The following example installs only the required packages for File System:
# cd /mnt/cdrom/file_system
# ./installfs -nooptionalpkgs
