Problem
An IP resource fails to probe in Veritas Storage Foundation HA for Windows
Error
IP:VvrRvg_IP:monitor:IP (x.x.x.x) is Admin IP
Solution
An IP resource will fail to probe if it is configured to
monitor the same IP address that is already the primary address for this server
or if the same IP address is active elsewhere in the network.
Symptoms
- The IP resource fails to probe.
- Status code V-16-10051-4008 is reported by Cluster Explorer.
- WARNING: "IP:VvrRvg_IP:monitor:IP (x.x.x.x) is Admin IP."
(Where "VvrRvg_IP" is the name of the problem IP resource)
Solutions
1. Check following registry key to see if virtual IP address can be found as the IP agent checks this key then throws error if same IP exists.
HKLM\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\Tcpip\Parameters\Interfaces\<AdapterGUID>
2. Try a different IP address in the IP resource and see if it works. If it does, most likely, there is an IP conflict in the network. Ensure that no other devices in the network is using the same virtual IP address that is specified in the IP resource.
