Problem
"Start Replication" is not available in Veritas Storage Foundation for Windows - VVR (Veritas Volume Replicator) Option
Solution
Introduction
If the overflow protection mode is set to DCM (Data Change Map) or AutoDCM, a DCM must be present before replication can be started. If a DCM is not present, Start Replication will not be available.
Procedure
To determine if the DCM is missing, follow these steps for both the primary and secondaries:
1. Expand Replication Network.
2. Expand the RDS (Replicated Data Set).
3. Expand the RVG (Replicated Volume Group).
4. Right-click on the replicated volume.
5. If Add DCM Log is available (not gray), a DCM is not present. If a DCM is present, Add DCM Log will not be available to select.
To add a DCM log, follow these steps:
1. Expand Replication Network.
2. Expand the RDS (Replicated Data Set).
3. Expand the RVG (Replicated Volume Group).
4. Right-click on the replicated volume.
5. Select Add DCM Log.
