After replacing a network card, the NIC and IP resources fail to probe - Veritas Storage Foundation HA for Windows

Solution

Cause

- MAC Address of the new NIC is different to what is stated in the NIC and IP resource properties.

Solution

- Both the NIC and IP resources have a MAC Address attribute.
- This attribute must be updated to reflect the new MAC address of the new network card.

Note: When updating the MACAddress attribute, separate the digits with hyphens not colons.

For example, the following is a valid entry:
00-11-43-EB-EE-22

This is an invalid entry:
00:11:43:EB:EE:22

FYI - SFW 5.x or above supports both hyphens or colon format.
