Before adding any ASL package, ensure Veritas Volume Manager is installed and enabled
# vxdctl mode
mode: enabled
1. At the bottom of this TechFile, click on Download Now to download the ASL package in /tmp/ASL
# mkdir /tmp/ASL
# cd /tmp/ASL
2. After downloading VRTSDotHill-5.0-SunOS-v1.0_290839.tar.Z, verify the cksum of the file
# cksum VRTSDotHill-5.0-SunOS-v1.0_290839.tar.Z
3777702713 10252 VRTSDotHill-5.0-SunOS-v1.0_290839.tar.Z
3. Uncompress the file
# zcat VRTSDotHill-5.0-SunOS-v1.0_290839.tar.Z | tar xvf -
4. Install the ASL using pkgadd
# pkgadd -d . VRTSDotHill
5. Verify pkginfo
# pkginfo -l VRTSDotHill
