Error



Snapshot provider error (0xE0008527): Veritas Storage Foundation for Windows (VSFW) unexpectedly failed. Check that the VSFW service is running, and check the status of existing disk groups and volumes.

Solution



This private fix is to correct the problem of "Backup Exec's Off-host backup with SFW fails on 64Bit, giving error V-79-57344-34110."

Snapshot provider error (0xE0008527): Veritas Storage Foundation for Windows (VSFW) unexpectedly failed. Check that the VSFW service is running, and check the status of existing disk groups and volumes.

Affected Binaries:

 Vxcmd64.dll (5.0.12.297) SFW 5.0
 Vxcmd64.dll (4.3.1060.350) SFW 4.3 MP1 or MP2

Installation Procedure:

 1.  Unzip the attached binary (1047861_290983.exe) file to a temporary folder.
 2.  Rename the original vxcmd64.dll to back it up.
 3.  Copy the correct vxcmd64.dll file (depending on your SFW version and hardware architecture) to the same location of the backup up vxcmd64.dll file.
