How to configure VEA in STANDALONE mode when your HOST does not have FQHN.

Error

Querying fully qualified domain name of host "" ................................................................ fail

Solution

Some Servers may not have a FQHN (Fully Qualified Hostname). If this is the case you can still configure VEA as STANDALONE.

Steps:
1. After the query for the FQHN fails.: Hit Enter.
2. When it prompts you to enter the FQHN again enter the name of the server again.

This is the workaround to continue with the installation configuration when you do not have an FQHN configured for the server hostname If an FQHN is not configured,  do not choose to configure SFMS (Storage Foundation Managemen Server) answer no to the configuration of SFMS. This will allow the installation and configuration to continue and complete. Once an FQHN is configured for the server simply run the "installer -configure" script to redo this portion of the configuration.

Example install configuration run:

1. Verify the install systems Fully Qualified Hostnames.

Querying fully qualified domain name of host "doozer" ................................................................ fail

Press [Enter] to continue: Unable to find FQHN for doozer!

Enter the fully qualified hostname of "doozer" or 'QUIT' to quit install.
Enter the fully qualified host name: doozer

2. Choose how this install will be managed.
