In the course of creating a customized recovery disk the question is asked, "Is it possible to manipulate files and folders within the Symantec Recovery Disk ISO image?"
Symantec Recovery Disk for Windows based systems.
Customization and/or manipulation of files within Symantec Recovery Disk ISO disk image performed outside of the Custom SRD wizard is not supported by Symantec Technical Support.
Follow the steps outlined in the How to create a Custom Symantec Recovery CD www.symantec.com/docs/TECH83694 to add additional mass storage (disk controller) and Network interface card drivers. Additional drivers for an another system can be added to the ISO by simply following the steps in the above technote again either on this second system (if Backup Exec System Recovery or Symantec System Recovery is installed) or again on the original system with the needed mass storage and/or Network interface card drivers has been copied too (These drivers do not need to be installed on the original system).
