Issue

When configuring a cache location for a new Celerra Volume Target within Enterprise Vault 7.0 or Enterprise Vault 2007, the selection of cache location defaults to the main Enterprise Vault server.

Solution

When configuring a cache location for a new Celerra Volume Target within Enterprise Vault 7.0 or Enterprise Vault 2007, the selection of cache location defaults to the main Enterprise Vault server, even if there are alternate Enterprise Vault servers in the site which will be hosting the storage service for the archive target.

Cache locations can be specified manually in the Vault Store Database to allow cache locations local to the Enterprise Vault server which is hosting the storage service for the Celerra target in question.

Workaround:
1. Perform a backup of the EnterpriseVaultDirectory database.

2. In the EnterpriseVaultDirectory Database, the ComputerEntry table, CacheLocation column can be modified for the desired Enterprise Vault server. The cache location specified must be local to the Enterprise Vault server.

3. Once this change is made, the specified cache location will be used by the Enterprise Vault server specified.

Solution:
This issue has been addressed as part of the following release:

Symantec Enterprise Vault 2007 SP2
