Error
Volume Shadow Copy Service error: Unexpected error CreateFileW(\\?\Volume{6a45bee3-60de-11d9-b0f6-9891eee4382b},0xc0000000,0x00000003,...). hr = 0x80070005
Solution
While running a backup using Symantec Backup Exec System Recovery or LiveState Recovery, the backup completes successfully. However, an error message is logged to the Event Application log which is similar to the following:
Volume Shadow Copy Service error: Unexpected error CreateFileW(\\?\Volume{6a45bee3-60de-11d9-b0f6-9891eee4382b},0xc0000000,0x00000003,...). hr = 0x80070005
Cause:
This error message is generated when certain Windows security policies are enabled.
Solution
To prevent the error message from appearing:
1. Go to Computer Configuration > Windows Settings > Security Settings > Local Policies > Security Options.
2. Disable the following security policies in Windows:
