Which versions of Symantec Storage Exec (tm) can this update be applied?
This hotfix can only be applied to the following versions of Storage Exec:
Symantec Storage Exec (SE) 5.5 Build 2310


What issues does this hotfix resolve?
  • Cannot copy files from (or to) any Part of a volume that has a Storage Exec quota applied
  • System crash during file moving to managed resource folder twice
  • Hotfix 1 for Storage Exec 5.5 corrupts report formatting
  • Trend Data not recorded in SQL 2005 database if SQL Native client used for Open Database Connectivity (ODBC) Database Source Name (DSN)
  • Wrong information is getting displayed for 'Space Allocation Left MB' in the 'Out of Allocated Space' report
  • Netapp notification: Free space Notification is giving value of Current used at 100% threshold
  • Possible compatibility issue with EMC Disk Extender
  • VERITAS Cluster Server: SE resource go offline unexpectedly
  • Enterprise Vault - SE Coexistence Issue: Unable to add a folder target from the Vault Administrator Console (VAC)

How to install this hotfix:

Notes:
All Storage Exec installations from Hotfix 3 onward should be unclustered before hotfix installation.

Push install of the agent after applying Hotfix 5 on the server is not supported.  The agent would need to be installed locally by running agent.msp on all the agents manually.

1. Use the Storage Exec Cluster Wizard to uncluster Storage Exec.

2. Close Storage Exec.

3. Run SE2310RHF5_294793.exe and follow the instructions in the installation wizard on all nodes in the cluster.

4. Use the Storage Exec Cluster Wizard to cluster Storage Exec.


How to uninstall this hotfix:

Once this hotfix has been installed, it cannot be uninstalled without uninstalling the entire Storage Exec 5.5 application.
