'The RPC server is unavailable' occurs when attempting to review items in Compliance or Discovery Accelerator.
Error
Cannot Retrieve Item.
Report this error to your system administrator.
System.Runtime.InteropServices.COMException (0x800706BA): The RPC server is unavailable.
Cause
When reviewing items in Compliance Accelerator (CA) or Discovery Accelerator (DA), item retrieval is processed via Remote Procedure Call (RPC) to the Enterprise Vault Directory server. If the RPC Resources become unavailable on the Enterprise Vault Directory server, the call fails: 'The RPC server is unavailable".
