Problem
Hotfix to address Etracks 932426 and 932446 - NetBackup (NBU) 6.0 and higher Snapshot backups or Backup Exec (BE) Remote Agent for Windows using the Storage Foundation for Windows (SFW) Volume snapshot copy service (VSS) snapshot provider fails [SFW 5.0].
Solution
This problem is
caused by an Access Violation in VxCMD.dll. As a result, a backup job
that requires the use of the SFW VSS snapshot technology will fail. Some
examples of the Symantec backup applications that use this technology are the
NetBackup Advanced Client Backup/NetBackup Snapshot Client Backup and Alternate
Client Backup features.
In order to
successfully perform a snapshot backup using the SFW VSS method, you need to
apply the attached SFW 5.0 hotfix on all systems that such snapshot backups will
be performed.

Specific
information concerning this Hotfix: Windows 2003, SFW 5.0, and NBU 6.0 and

higher versions.)

the beremote service, "Backup Exec Remote Agent for Windows Systems"
because it will have the vxcmd.dll loaded.
