This error can appear when the information contained in the registry containing the DLO Media Server is not valid.

Solution

To correct the information for the DLO Media Server, perform the following steps:

Warning: Incorrect use of the Windows registry editor may prevent the operating system from functioning properly. Great care should be taken when making changes to a Windows registry. Registry modifications should only be carried-out by persons experienced in the use of the registry editor application. It is recommended that a complete backup of the registry and workstation be made prior to making any registry changes.

1.  Launch the Registry Editor:

Go to Start > Run.  Type REGEDIT and click OK

2.  For Backup Exec DLO browse to HKEY_Local_Machine\SOFTWARE\Symantec\DLO\3.0\Client

For Symantec DLO 7.0 browse to HKEY_Local_Machine\SOFTWARE\Symantec\Symantec DLO\Client

3.  Verify that the DefaultMediaServer value contains the proper DLO Server Name

4.  Exit from REGEDIT

5.  Confirm the DEFAULTMEDIASERVER entry in the Setup.ini file is correct in the DLOAgent share folder on the DLO Server. For more information on this, refer to the following document:
