Issue

After successful deployment of the Backup Exec System Recovery software agent to a remote Windows 2003 Server from a server configured as a Windows Domain Controller, the Backup Exec System Recovery user interface is unable to connect back to the agent installed on the remote Windows 2003 Server.

Solution

This issue can occur if a group policy firewall has been configured using Microsoft's Group Policy Management Console, which prevents the Backup Exec System Recovery console from connecting back to the Remote Agent on the remote Windows 2003 Server. The issue is with a port filtering problem which prevents the console from connecting back to the Remote Agent.
