Error "connection to target system has been lost" occurs when backing up to a tape library

This issue can occur because of mis-configured tape hardware or Remote Agent Priority Settings.  Confirm the Preferred Configuration for the tape drive is correct by clicking on the default button, that none of the modes are selected unless the tape hardware is connected to fiber, and lower the Remote Agent Priority if necessary.

1. Check to see if there was any hardware Event IDs with the date matching when the backup was done.
2. Make sure the hardware devices are at the latest firmware and driver level.
3.Check to see is there Multiple "hard" read or write errors indicate a problem with the tape drive ,if so try with different tape drive.
4 If still the same issue run future backups to different tape medium. If the issue persist contact the tape hardware vendor.
