You must have a network connection in order to delete archived items.

Solution



When attempting to retrieve an archived item in Outlook the following error will be generated.

There was an error loading this item -- some functionality may not be available.

Click on the banner message above, then this message will be generated.

If attempting to delete an archived message the following error will be generated.

You must have a network connection in order to delete archived items.

These error messages will be generated if the user is disabled in the Enterprise Vault Administration Console.


Resolution:
1. Close Outlook

2. Open the Enterprise Vault Administration Console.

3. Click on Tools, Enable Mailboxes...

4. Click on the Disabled mailboxes only radio button, and click the mailbox that generated these errors and proceed through the prompts to enable the mailbox.

5. Launch Outlook to verify retrieving or deleting an archived item is successful.
