Problem
ARCHDVS files from collections filled drive preventing completion of export
Error
Failed to retrieve: The server threw an exception. (Exception from HRESULT: 0x80010105 (RPC_E_SERVERFAULT))
Solution
Overview:
When
Enterprise Vault (EV) is configured to use NTFS collections, and a retrieval
request is made, the message is extracted from a CAB and an ARCHDVS file is
created. During a production of a relatively large size, the number of ARCHDVS
files could fill up remaining space on a drive especially when that drive is
already close to capacity. It is recommended to confirm sufficient disk space is
available when performing a large production to avoid the issue.
Also, in
some circumstances, an existing ARCHDVS file can cause the export process to
throw the error message above if that file cannot be properly accessed by the
export process.
Solutions:
Manually run
collections to force the ARCHDVS file deletion by performing the following
steps:
1. Open the
Vault Administration Console and expand Vault Stores.
2. Highlight
the vault store where the data is stored and on the right pane, double-click the
correct partition.
3. Select
the Collections tab and choose Run Now.
4. Manually
delete all ARCHDVS files on drive.
