on top of Veritas Volume Manager 5.0 for the Solaris x64 Platform.

VM_5.0_RP1.5_Solx86.tar_297809.gz (see Download Now below) contains patches:

6393255 (1070325)  VxSF 5.0 - (5.0 MP1) - VEA Gui - new diskgroup fails to encapsulate root or non-root disk
6578221 (1102928)  VxVM VEA selecting the disk instead of user's specified one when creating a volume

installs a patch to a standalone machine:

Special Install Instructions:

  1) Before installing the patch, stop vxpal by typing:
/opt/VRTSobc/pal33/bin/vxpalctrl -a StorageAgent -c stop

  2) After the patch installation is complete, restart the StorageAgent
     by typing:
         /opt/VRTSobc/pal33/bin/vxpal -a StorageAgent

Special Install Instructions:
-----------------------------
You need to use the shutdown command to reboot the system after patch
installation or de-installation:

   shutdown -g0 -y -i6

A Solaris 10 issue prevents this VM patch from complete installation.
Before installing this VM patch, install the Solaris patch 119255-04
(or a later version of this patch). This Solaris patch fixes packaging,
installation and patch utilities.
