Problem
In Backup Exec 12.0, the admin console displays the dates in a format different than that specified in the operating system settings
Solution
In Backup Exec 12.0, the admin console displays dates in the format defined by the operating system's default culture. If the culture is modified Backup Exec does not pick up the change and will instead use the default culture the OS used.
Workaround:
1 Go to Start\Settings\Control Panel and open the "Regional and Language Options" console.
2. In the "Regional Options" tab under the "Standards and Formats" section, select the region as "United States". (Figure 1)
Figure 1:
3. Click on the "Customize" tab and set the Short Date format as the one desired. e.g. dd/mm/yyyy. (Figure 2)
Figure 2:
4. Restart the Backup Exec services and open the admin console. The dates should show in the desired format.
Resolution:
This issue has now been fixed by way of a hotfix. Please refer the Related Articles section for more information.
