Error



V-79-57344-65253 - A failure occurred restoring because the files cannot be replaced and no alternate location was specified.
Error writing file data.

 


Cause



When attempting to redirect restore an Exchange 2007 database using the Recovery Storage Group feature or the Exchange file redirection restore feature the job may fail with the above error. The error may come up if the database being restored is configured in an LCR setup and replication is enabled.
 


Solution



To resolve the problem suspend LCR replication for the database and then submit the restore. (Figure 1)
