LiveUpdate prompts to update a version of a Symantec Product that is no longer installed

Solution

There are two solutions for this issue.
I. Temporary Solution; Set LiveUpdate to Interactive Mode per the following steps:

1. Open the Windows Control Panel Applet.
2. Double-click on Symantec LiveUpdate.  In the LiveUpdate Configuration window select Interactive Mode and press OK.
3. Open the Backup Exec System Recovery Console and click on Help, then click Run LiveUpdate.  Select what programs to update, then check for available updates.

Please note:  The procedure above will need to be performed each time LiveUpdate runs.

II. Permanent Solution; these steps will only need to be performed one time:

1. Uninstall every Symantec Product via the Control Panel, Add/Remove Programs Applet, including LiveUpdate.
2. Delete the C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Symantec\LiveUpdate folder.
3. Reinstall the Symantec Products, including LiveUpdate.
