Error E4BC0012: An interaction with the catalogs database layer failed unexpectedly: sqlite3_step--5: database is locked


Solution



For Windows XP / 2000 / 2003:
 
1) In the Windows Control Panel Applet, stop the Backup Exec System Recovery Service.
 
2) Delete the \Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Symantec\FileBackup\catalog.dat.  The catalog.dat file will then be recreated when the next job is run.
 
3) Restart the Backup Exec System Recovery Service and rerun File and Folder Backup
 
For Windows Vista / 7/2008/2008 R2:
 
1) In the Windows Control Panel Applet, stop the Backup Exec System Recovery Service.
 
2) Delete the \ProgramData\Symantec\FileBackup\catalog.dat.  The catalog.dat file will then be recreated when the next job is run.
 
3) Restart the Backup Exec System Recovery service and rerun File and Folder Backup.
