Problem
Some scheduled searches hang in 'Searching' status in Compliance Accelerator or Discovery Accelerator
Solution
Overview:
Some scheduled searches hang in 'Searching' status. Other searches that start at the same time or earlier complete. The oldest searches eventually complete. Several common scenarios for the error to be displayed include the following:
Scenario 1
The customer database transaction log is configured to not automatically grow and the log is full or the disk containing the log is full.
Solution:
Backup and truncate the customer database transaction log and configure SQL Maintenance to daily backup and truncate the log.
Scenario 2
The customer background task stopped during the search operation and was not restarted.
Solution:
Restart the Customer Background Task
Scenario 3
The communication was disrupted between SQL, Enterprise Vault and Compliance or Discovery Accelerator servers.
Solution:
Restart the Enterprise Vault Accelerator Manager Service.
