Problem
Steps that should be performed prior to upgrading to assure that the Restore Selections of a Cluster Aware Installation of Backup Exec for Windows Servers in a SAN/SSO Environment will be visible after the upgrade completes.
Solution
To prevent issues with missing Restore Selections from occurring with Cluster Aware Installation of Backup Exec for Windows Servers in a SAN/SSO Environment, perform the following steps prior to upgrading:
- Write down the Backup Exec Cluster Names and then break the cluster (Before installing on the active node, use the Cluster Administrator to take the Backup Exec group OFFLINE).
- Upgrade the servers in the cluster.
- Run clusconfig.exe and use the same name for the cluster that was used before breaking the cluster and upgrading.
