Solution
Veritas Provisioning Manager (VPM) 5.0 MP1 Patch 1238566 is
now available.
This patch provides support for the BCM5709 controller and BL680c server for both 2.4 kernel based and 2.6 kernel based Active OS's.
To switch to a different NIC speed you need to select a different AOS. Add the following entries in elemental.properties file
1. driver.bootd.dhcp.aos.x86.largemem=1
2. driver.bootd.dhcp.aos.x86opboot.desc = 2.4 kernel x86 ActiveOS 128MB Autonegotiate
3. driver.bootd.dhcp.aos.x86opboot-256MB.desc = 2.4 kernel x86 ActiveOS 256MB 100Full
4. driver.bootd.dhcp.aos.x86opboot-512MB.desc = 2.4 kernel x86 ActiveOS 512MB Autonegotiate
5. driver.bootd.dhcp.aos.x86opboot.rh4-256MB.desc = 2.6 kernel x86 ActiveOS 256MB Autonegotiate
6. driver.bootd.dhcp.aos.x86opboot.rh4-512MB.desc = 2.6 kernel x86 ActiveOS 512MB 100Full
Patch Installation Instructions:
To apply this patch on a Linux or Solaris OpForce server:
1. Backup the directory <VPM_Install_Dir>/bootconfigs/default
2. Create a patch directory, and extract:
Opforce5.0MP1+p1238566.tar
3. Change directory to the patch directory.
4. Run ./setup.sh
5. Restart elemental service
To apply this patch on a Windows OpForce server:
1. Backup the directory <VPM_Install_Dir>\drvconf\tftpboot\configs\default
2. Create a directory for patch extraction and extract:
Opforce5.0MP1+p1238566.tar
3. Change directory to the patch directory.
4. Run setup.bat
5. Restart elemental service
Rollback Possible: No
