What issues does this Hotfix resolve?
  • When adding or Editing User Defined Fields for a Classification Policy in the SymantUCEAdmin the following reported: Cannot set column 'CategoryId'. The value violates the MaxLength limit of this column.
  • Email messages intercepted by a UCE client can become archived with an incorrect retention category ID.
  • Email with an invalid or missing retention category will be archived.
  • A Cancel button was enabled for when a user Read an email message.
  • The Next button is operational when Reclassify button is selected and a two step classification policy is present.
  • Support for Outlook 2007

How to install this Hotfix
Enterprise Vault Server installation instructions:
For existing installations:
1. Stop the Exchange Mailbox Archiving Task through the Vault Admin Console.
2. Rename TrustedEdge.TEEnterpriseVaultFilter.dll in the UCE Server program folder (default location is \Program Files\Symantec\UCE Server\EVPlugIn) to TrustedEdge.TEEnterpriseVaultFilter.dll.base.
3. Copy TrustedEdge.TEEnterpriseVaultFilter.dll into (default location is \Program Files\Symantec\UCE Server\EVPlugIn).
4. Copy KVS.EnterpriseVault.Interop.RetentionAPI.dll into (default location is \Program Files\Symantec\UCE Server\EVPlugIn).
5. Start the Exchange Mailbox Archiving Task.
For new installations:
1. Run the updated EnterpriseVaultIntegration.msi on the Enterprise Vault server.
Client installation instructions
For existing installations:
1. Exit the UCE Desktop Agent and the Outlook client.
2. Rename TECommonOutlookAddIn.dll in the Desktop Agent program folder (default location is \Program Files\Symantec\Desktop Agent) to TECommonOutlookAddIn.dll.base.
3. Copy TECommonOutlookAddIn.dll into the Desktop Agent program folder ( default location is \Program Files\Symantec\Desktop Agent).
4. Copy WorkFlowAgent.dll into the folder C:\WINDOWS\assembly.
5. Verify the version of WorkFlowAgent.dll by right clicking the newly added patch file, and then go to Properties->Version.  The updated version of this file is 3.1.14.2.
6. Launch the UCE Desktop Agent and Outlook client.
For new installations:
1. Run the updated SymantecDesktop.msi on client workstation.
