This section describes how to install this rolling patch.
2.A - Install overview
======================
You should apply 5.0MP1-RP1 to your Management Server host and to all of your
managed hosts. If you plan to use the Agent Push Install Utility on Windows to
install the managed host, you should apply 5.0MP1-RP1 to the host where the
utility is installed *before* you use the utility to install the managed host
on remote hosts.
Installation order should be as follows:
1. Install 5.0MP1-RP1 on your Management Server host.
2. If you are using the Agent Push Install Utility on Windows, install 5.0MP1-RP1
on the host where the utility is installed.
3. Install 5.0MP1-RP1 on your managed hosts.

1. Download the files that you need and uncompress them as follows:
gunzip -c unix.BASE|<PLAT>.PATCH.tar.gz | tar xf -
When the files are uncompressed, a unix directory is created.
2. Copy or mount the unix directory on the target host.
3. Run ./installrp from the unix directory.
Note: The 5.0MP1-RP1 installer expects the output of 'uname -n' as the
argument when you install the Management Server. For example, if the
Management Server host name is myhost.mydomain.com, you should run the
installer by specifying either of the following commands from the
unix directory:
./installrp `uname -n`

Section 4: Known issues/limitations
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
1. Remote installation of 5.0MP1-RP1 is not supported for the Management Server. You
must install the patch locally on the Management Server host.
2. On UNIX, the 5.0MP1-RP1 installer expects the output of 'uname -n' as the
argument when you install the Management Server. For example, if the
Management Server host name is myhost.mydomain.com, you should run the
installer by specifying either of the following commands from the
unix directory:
./installrp `uname -n`
./installrp myhost
3. After you install 5.0MP1-RP1, the following substitution tokens will not be
functional in alert descriptions and alert notifications:
- $Application$ - The name(s) of one or more applications affected by the alert
- $ManagedObject$ - Name of the managed system (host, array or switch) that
caused the alert to be triggered; or blank if the alert is not associated
with a host, array, or switch.
- $Impacted$ - List of objects impacted by the alert
4. After you upgrade the Management Server from 5.0MP1 to 5.0MP1-RP1, some of the
active alerts that were present in MP1 at the time that you upgraded will display
in the Console as unknown.
This is caused by a lag (typically between 2 and 6 hours) in the monitoring
interval for each monitored object.
5. On Windows, SICL running on the Management Server is configured in DM-only mode
even if you select "OM and DM" mode during the install.
Workaround
a. On the Management Server host, open Windows Explorer and navigate to the SICL
scripts directory:
{INSTALLDIR}\CommandCentral Storage\SICL\scripts
b. In a text editor, edit the processes file and add the following entry at the end
of the file:
halrun service
c. Save the processes file.
NOTE: Download both the unix.BASE.PATCH.tar.gz file and the unix.[PLATFORM].PATCH.tar.gz file.

Section 2: Installation
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
This section describes how to install this rolling patch.
2.A - Install overview
======================
2.B - Windows
=============
For Windows, the following files are available for 5.0MP1-RP1:

===============================================================================
NOTE: You must uncompress both the unix.BASE.PATCH.tar file and your specific platform file (i.e. unix.SunOS.PATCH.tar) before installation.
For example, if the
Management Server host name is myhost.mydomain.com, you should run the
installer by specifying either of the following commands from the
unix directory:
./installrp `uname -n`
./installrp myhost
4. Follow the install script prompts.
The installer displays the path to all logs at the end of the install.
