Issue

The Backup Exec Remote Agent service stops on the Backup Exec server while running continuous Exchange backup using the Continuous Protection Server (CPS) option.

Error

The Exchange Store service is not responding. Backup set canceled

Final error: 0xe000fe30 - A communications failure has occurred. Final error category: Server Errors

Cause

The Backup Exec Remote Agent for Windows Servers  RAWS service may crash on the Backup Exec media server when an Exchange backup job is configured with the option "Continuously backup transaction logs with Backup Exec Continuous Protection Server".  The remote agent may crash while running the recovery point job if the transaction logs are not replicated to the Backup Exec media server.  This could be caused by the Backup Exec CPS services being stopped, or some type of network problem.

The job log reports an error as shown above.
