This hotfix can only be applied to the following versions of Enterprise Vault for:
Enterprise Vault 2007 SP1, Build 1397


What issue does this hotfix resolve?

Enterprise Vault OWA toolbar buttons and icons no longer appear after installing Microsoft KB 929895.

Additional information:
Microsoft has released a hotfix: KB 929895. As a result, current Enterprise Vault OWA implementations and new Enterprise Vault installations will be affected because the installation of the Enterprise Vault OWA extensions does not modify the Exchange control files under Program files\Exchsrvr\exchweb\6.5.7653.3. This hotfix should be applied to both Front-End and Back-End Exchange servers.

How to install this hotfix:

1. Download the hotfix and extract the files to a temporary location on the Exchange Back-End/Front-End Server where the Enterprise Vault OWA extensions are installed.

2. Open the temp folder and check the Exchange hotfix 6.5.7653.3.txt file for details of any last minute changes.

3. In the Files folder, double-click SETUP.EXE to start the installation.

4. Follow the installation instructions and select the options relevant to the installation, i.e. backend for backend, frontend for frontend, (OWA & RPC) component.

Note: This fix should only be used for installing the 6.5.7653.3 files on the Exchange servers and NOT be used for general installations of Enterprise Vault.


How to uninstall this hotfix:

To roll back from this hotfix the Enterprise Vault OWA component must be removed. Please refer to TechNote 284060 in the Related Documents section of this article for more information on removing the Enterprise Vault OWA extensions.
