Section 2: Installation
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

This section describes how to install this rolling patch.

2.A - Install overview
======================
You should apply 5.0MP1-RP2 to your Management Server host and to all of your
managed hosts. If you plan to use the Agent Push Install Utility on Windows to
install the managed host, you should apply 5.0MP1-RP2 to the host where the
utility is installed *before* you use the utility to install the managed host
on remote hosts.

Installation order should be as follows:

1. Install 5.0MP1-RP2 on your Management Server host.

2. If you are using the Agent Push Install Utility on Windows, install 5.0MP1-RP2
  on the host where the utility is installed.

3. Install 5.0MP1-RP2 on your managed hosts.

2.B - Windows
=============
For Windows, the following files are available for 5.0MP1-RP2:

===============================================================================
File                     For installing 5.0MP1-RP2 on. . .
===============================================================================
MSSetup.exe              Management Server host
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
MHSetup.exe              Managed host
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
PISetup.exe              Agent Push Install Utility host
===============================================================================

1. On the host where you want to install 5.0MP1-RP2, download and unzip the
  .zip file that contains the 5.0MP1-RP2 executables.

  By default, the 5.0MP1-RP2 files unzip into a ccstor_50MP1_RP2 directory.

2. From the ccstor_50MP1_RP2 directory, double-click the executable file for the
  component that you want to update.

3. Follow the install wizard prompts.

Log locations:

Install log:
%ALLUSERSPROFILE%\Application Data\VERITAS\CommandCentral Storage\CCS50RP.log

Uninstall log:
%ALLUSERSPROFILE%\Application Data\VERITAS\CommandCentral Storage\CCStorageInstall.log

Database patching log:
%ALLUSERSPROFILE%\Application Data\VERITAS\CommandCentral Storage\Dbupgrade50Patch.log

2.C - UNIX
==========
For UNIX, the following files are available for 5.0MP1-RP2:

===============================================================================
File For installing 5.0MP1-RP2 on. . .
===============================================================================
CCStor_50MP1_RP2_SunOS.tar.Z Solaris Management Server and managed hosts
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
CCStor_50MP1_RP2_AIX.tar.Z AIX managed hosts
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
CCStor_50MP1_RP2_Linux.tar.Z Linux managed hosts
===============================================================================

1. Download the files that you need and uncompress them as follows:

  - `uncompress CCStor_50MP1_RP2_<PLAT>.tar.Z

     (outcome of the above command will be CCStor_50MP1_RP2_<PLAT>.tar)

  - `tar -xf CCStor_50MP1_RP2_<PLAT>.tar`

  By default, the files are uncompressed to a ccstor_50MP1_RP2 directory.

2. Copy or mount the ccstor_50MP1_RP2 directory on the target host.

3. Run ./installrp from the ccstor_50MP1_RP2 directory.

  Note: The 5.0MP1-RP2 installer expects the output of 'uname -n' as the
  argument when you install the Management Server. For example, if the
  Management Server host name is myhost.mydomain.com, you should run the
  installer by specifying either of the following commands from the
  ccstor_50MP1_RP2 directory:

  ./installrp `uname -n`
  ./installrp myhost

4. Follow the install script prompts.

  The installer displays the path to all logs at the end of the install.

2.D - Install confirmation
==========================
After you install CommandCentral Storage 5.0MP1-RP2, you can verify that all
patches and files have been added/modified by confirming that your host has
been updated as described below.

Windows:

After you install CommandCentral Storage 5.0MP1-RP2, the entry in Add or Remove
Programs will be listed as follows:

- "Veritas CommandCentral(TM) Storage 5.0MP1 Rolling Patch 2 by Symantec"

Solaris:

Product version will remain as Veritas CommandCentral Storage 5.0 by Symantec.
However, PSTAMP will contain 50MP1_RP2 entry for all patches.

Section 4: Known issues/limitations
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

4.A - Windows
=============

1. If you installed 5.0MP1 using the silent install procedure and you then
  attempt to upgrade your Windows host to 5.0MP1-RP2, the installer may display
  the following message:

       "Error opening installation log file. Verify that specified log file
location exists and is writable."

  This message will appear if the following directory does not exist on your
  5.0MP1 host:

  "%ALLUSERSPROFILE%\Application Data\VERITAS\CommandCentral Storage"

  Solution:

  Cancel the 5.0MP1-RP2 install and run LogDirCreation.bat. This file is included in
  the 5.0MP1-RP2 archive file that you downloaded.

  Or, run the following command from the command prompt to create the log directory:

       if not exist "%ALLUSERSPROFILE%\Application Data\VERITAS\CommandCentral Storage"
       mkdir "%ALLUSERSPROFILE%\Application Data\VERITAS\CommandCentral Storage"

  After you verify that the log directory exists, re-run the 5.0MP1-RP2 installer.

4.B - UNIX
==========

1. Remote installation of 5.0MP1-RP2 is not supported for the Management Server. You
  must install 5.0MP1-RP2 locally on the Management Server host.

2. On UNIX, the 5.0MP1-RP2 installer expects the output of 'uname -n' as the
  argument when you install the Management Server. For example, if the
  Management Server host name is myhost.mydomain.com, you should run the
  installer by specifying either of the following commands from the
  ccstor_50MP1_RP2 directory:

  ./installrp `uname -n`
  ./installrp myhost
