Problem
GENERAL ERROR: 'Invalid command parameter' returned while configuring a new disk pool for PureDisk Deduplication Option (PDDO) within the NetBackup 6.5 Windows administration console disk pool wizard.
Solution
The issue:
'Invalid command parameter' returned while configuring a new disk pool for PureDisk Deduplication Option (PDDO) within the NetBackup 6.5 Windows administration console (nbconsole) disk pool wizard (figure 1).
Figure 1
Resolution:
This issue can occur when a network forward/reverse lookup fails between the system where nbconsole is running the disk pool wizard and the NetBackup media server where the PDDO plugin is installed. To resolve this issue, two solutions exist:
1. Resolve the forward/reverse name resolution problem via hosts file edits or DNS configuration changes.
-OR-
2. Create the disk pool via nbconsole on the NetBackup media server where the PDDO plugin is installed.
