Final error: 0xe000fef7 - A Microsoft SQL Server backup using snapshot technology was attempted on a SQL Server instance version 7. Microsoft SQL Server version 7 does not support snapshot technology.

Cause

Microsoft SQL snapshot backups are not supported in Microsoft SQL 7.0 Database Server.

Solution

Disable the snapshot backup method for SQL Server 7.0 backup or create a separate backup job for SQL Server 7.0 with AOFO/ADBO disabled.

To disable AOFO in a SQL Server 7.0 backup job:

1. Open Backup Job Properties.

2. Click Settings > Advanced Open File.

3. Deselect Use Advanced Open File Option.

To disable ADBO in a SQL Server 7.0 backup job:

1. On the Backup Job Properties pane click on Settings > Advanced Disk-based Backup.

2. Deselect the option "Use offhost backup to move backup processing from remote computer to media server"
