Problem
Poor performance using a DELL Powervault RD1000 removable disk cartridge system (external) with Backup Exec for Windows Servers (BEWS)
Cause
The Dell RD1000 (external) was designed to be connected using USB 2.0. If the Dell RD1000 is connected to a USB 1.1 port, for instance, the user will experience very poor performance and job rates to match.
Solution
Connect the DELL RD1000 to a USB 2.0 port. If this involves replacing or adding new hardware, contacting the hardware manufacturer may be necessary.
