VRTSsmweb patch for support of new Storage Foundation Manager 1.1 Add-ons (Linux)

Solution

In order to install the new Health Check or License Add-ons with Storage Foundation Manager 1.1 on Linux, two patches are needed:

VRTScs 5.0.707.0
VRTSsmweb 1.2.76.0

The VRTScs patch should be applied before the VRTSsmweb patch.

The changes included in this patch are:

- Added support to the Operation Execution Framework to execute Java Jobs.

- Database related changes to support Java Jobs

- Print page functionality
This will allow an end user to print the entire page.

- Export page as CSV:
This will allow the end user to export the overview and table components of a page into a CSV format file.

Patch Installation Instructions:
--------------------------------

For Linux refer to the man pages for instructions on
using 'rpm' script provided with Linux.

NOTE:   Ensure that VRTScs patch 5.0.707.0 for Linux has been applied before this patch.

1)  Download the patch from the link below.

2) Rename the file from VRTSsmweb-1.2.76.0-0.i686_308110.rpm to VRTSsmweb-1.2.76.0-0.i686.rpm

3)  The following example installs a patch to a standalone machine:

example# rpm -Uvh VRTSsmweb-1.2.76.0-0.i686.rpm --nodeps --nopreun --nopostun

4)  Login to the Web GUI using the following URL:

http://[host]:8181/sm/Login or https://[host]:8443/sm/Login

where [host] is the fully qualified hostname of the management server.

For additional examples please see the appropriate man pages. Any other
special or non-generic installation instructions should be described below
as special instructions.

NOTE:  After installing this patch, when you login to the Web GUI, it shows Storage Foundation Manager 1.1.1, when it should say 1.1.

Special Install Instructions:
-----------------------------

Please ignore the following error message generated in the patch log file (i.e. /var/sadm/patch/128082-01/log)

"/var/sadm/pkg/VRTSobgui/save/128082-01/undo: -- file unchanged
compress(1) returned error code 2"

This is a known problem refer SUN Incident 4401100
 http://docs.sun.com/db/doc/816-1428/6m7rkq38f?a=view

Workaround: Ignore the message. The message indicates that compress(1) could not create an archive that is smaller than
the original file. patchrm uses compress(1) to shrink the backout package.

No reboot is required after installation or uninstallation of  this patch.
