Problem
Installation of Backup Exec RAMS 12.0 and above on Mac OS 10.4 fails with an error stating "Unable to copy RALUSx86/pkgs/Darwinx86/VRTSvxmsa.tar.gz to /var/tmp/vxif/RALUS/VRTSvxmsa.
Error
Installing VRTSvxmsa 4.4.0.23 on MAC.local Unable to copy, /Volumes/Array1/ test/Backup ExecSoftware/RALUSx86/pkgs/Darwinx86/VRTSvxmsa.tar.gz, on MAC.local /var/tmp/vxif/RALUS/VRTSvxmsa, on MAC.local......... failed to install
Solution
To resolve the issue, download the Remote agent for Unix-Linux-Macintosh and re-run the install script.
Note: In order to download the RALUS agent, BEWS Product serial number is required to login to the Fileconnect site.
Note: Do not extract the RALUS installer files on a Windows system and copy the resulting files to the Linux/Unix host. Doing so will cause this and other difficult to diagnose installation errors. It is important to copy the .gz file to the Linux/Unix host and extract the files on that system
