Problem
NetBackup Desktop Laptop Option (DLO) User initiated restores fail, error message indicates user not owner of backup file
Solution
ISSUE:
Customer has large common file system areas and the users have full access, however, they cannot restore unless they are the owner.
ERROR CODE/MESSAGE:
V-139-35840-20135
ENVIRONMENT/CONDITIONS:
NetBackup DLO
Common file system where multiple users/groups can edit and modify all files.
User initiating file restore is not owner of file.
EVIDENCE:

Restore - C:\Common Files\Management\Management Team Guidelines_v2.ppt was not restored. This security ID may not be assigned as the owner of this object. You do not own the files being restored. Please restore the files without preserving the security attributes. - <http://eventlookup.veritas.com/eventlookup/EventLookup.jhtml?EvtID=V-139-35840-20135>
SOLUTION/WORKAROUND:
Remove option for "Preserve security attributes on restored files".
Step 1:
Select files for restore from the DLO Agent gui and select "Restore".
Step 2:
The Restore screen will appear. Under Options remove the check from "Preserve security attributes on restored files". Choose "OK" to initiate Restore.
