This TechFile provides information about the Array Support Library (ASL) for DotHill R/Evo Series Arrays (Active/Active) on Veritas Volume Manager 5.0 and 5.0MPx for Solaris Sparc.

Installation Instructions:
1. Create a directory to download the ASL package
# mkdir /tmp/asl
# cd /tmp/asl

2. At the bottom of this TechFile, click on Download Now to download the package

3. After downloading VRTSDotHill-asl_SunOS_v1.0_vm5.0.tar_308895.gz, verify checksum of the file
# cksum VRTSDotHill-asl_SunOS_v1.0_vm5.0.tar_308895.gz
2620887800      6596    VRTSDotHill-asl_SunOS_v1.0_vm5.0.tar_308895.gz

4. Uncompress the file and extract the ASL package
# gunzip VRTSDotHill-asl_SunOS_v1.0_vm5.0.tar_308895.gz
# tar xvf VRTSDotHill-asl_SunOS_v1.0_vm5.0.tar_308895

5. Before adding the ASL package, ensure Veritas Volume Manager is installed and enabled
# vxdctl mode
mode: enabled

6. Install the ASL
# pkgadd -d . VRTSDotHill

7. After the package is installed, execute the vxdctl enable command to claim the disk array
# vxdctl enable
Note: In some cases, it has been reported that the installation of the ASL and/or APM does not take effect, and vxdctl enable does not claim the enclosure and devices. In such cases, you can execute vxconfigd -k command in addition to vxdctl enable.

8. After executing vxdctl enable, verify the output of vxddladm listsupport command
# vxddladm listsupport libname=libvxdothill.so
