Issue

Jobs complete with an exception stating the file is in the backup selection list but was not found when backing up using RALUS (Remote Agent for Linux and Unix Servers).

Error

File \\servername\[ROOT] directoryname/filename is in the backup selection list but was not found.

Cause

This happens when NFS mount points are included in the backup selections.

In order to confirm whether the files that were reported to be not found belong to NFS mount point:

1. Login as root and run the command mount that will display all the mount points.
2. Also run the command cat /etc/fstab to check the mount point entries in the configuration file.

NOTE: /etc/fstab is the configuration file which contains information of all the partitions and storage devices. It also contains information of where your partitions and storage devices should be mounted and how.

Solution

In the job properties, under the option for 'Linux, Unix and Macintosh', select the option 'Follow remote mount points' (Figure 1).
